Journey to Space 3D is a celebration of the Space Shuttle program and what it contributed to the next chapter in human space exploration, as we reach out to Mars, and beyond.
This icon of space exploration is the embodiment of our pioneering spirit, of human achievement—a literal and figurative vessel to rocket humankind beyond the cradle of earth. To see Endeavour paraded through the streets of Los Angeles, retired for permanent display, marks the end of an era—and strikes an emotional chord. But as one journey ends, another begins. The shuttle legacy will live on—an inspiration for future generations aiming to push ever deeper into space.
Though the technology is now dated, the six Shuttles still represent a milestone in human space travel technology. It is because of the Space Shuttle program that we understand much more about humans living and working in space and reduced gravity environments, a key as we venture beyond our own atmosphere to planets within our solar system. As private enterprise joins with space agencies around the world, the next great race is on. Many believe Mars will be the next stop for the human species… perhaps within a generation.
